HOW TO GET A TOURIST (Short-Term) RESIDENCE PERMIT IN TURKEY?
1️⃣ Enter the e-Residence System
Official website: e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr
Choose “First Application” → “Short-Term Residence Permit.”
2️⃣ Fill Out the Application Form
The system will request:
- Passport information (ID page + entry stamp)
- Address details
- Phone & email
- Health insurance information
- Accommodation details
3️⃣ Prepare the Required Documents
Documents for the Tourist Residence Permit:
- Passport photocopy
- 4 biometric photos
- Valid health insurance
- Address document (rental contract / hotel contract)
- Tax number
- Fee receipts (residence permit fee + card fee)
- Proof of income (required in some cities)
4️⃣ Get an Appointment Date
The system provides the date, time, and location.
5️⃣ Attend the Appointment
Submit all documents.
Your application will enter the evaluation process.
6️⃣ Result & Residence Card Delivery
Once approved, your residence card will be delivered to your address via PTT.
The duration is usually 3–12 months.
📌 IMPORTANT NOTES
- The tourist residence permit does not allow working.
- Many cities do not extend tourist residence permits repeatedly for the same reason.
- If the passport validity is short, the residence duration will also be short.
- Address changes must be reported within 20 days.
